Blogging Web 2.0 Stats December 2007
January 2nd, 2008 by Monika
What a year we’ve had last year finishing off with some major excitement in December. Blogging Web 2.0 has grown even more, despite some major posting gaps last month. We’ve been rather lazy here with only 14 posts last month. But with Christmas, holidays and end of year many people do take it more easy and their focus is elsewhere.
Nowhere can this been seen more clearly than in a feed reader. There are hardly new posts every day which is actually nice since it does give everybody room to breathe. In terms of our competition, we don’t really have a clear winner since both Trent and Carla managed to write 1 post during the month.
So to make things more interesting I will use the $30 towards this month’s competition for the most written posts for $60 total prize.
I’m planning to do some changes here on the blog (thinking template, layout, etc.) but am not too sure exactly when and how. I want to discuss things with Terry first and take it from there.
We’ve had 309 unique visitors per day to this blog which is actually very good considering the age of the domain. With new years resolutions and all we are hoping to increase this figure even more.
In terms of income, things are slightly on the increase.
Google Adsense: $ 11.54
I’m actually going to change advertising on this blog tremendously. I am taking adsense off for starters since it is the wrong niche and could only potentially hurt me. Second I’m looking at other revenue streams and am happy to say that on the 1st of January we made a $30 clickbank sale. But this won’t count just yet.
For the moment this blog will operate as usual and if you by any chance feel like contributing as a guest blogger, then please contact us.

Hi Monika,
Nice traffic you have there. 300 unique is quite good. I hope can achieve that no in some near future. Mine is not a blog so it is little harder to get that many traffic. I want to focus building my site first when it has good traffic only then i will make a blog. Anyway i hope you will find a way to monetize your blog. Don’t let that good traffic going to waste. Always test with what you do. I’m not into testing phase yet because still on link building phase. Wish you all the best in 2008

moneytalks: thanks, our traffic is a combined effort from both Terry, our guest bloggers and my own effort. The power of team can be very powerful.
I’ve been testing since the start of this blog and now I know that monetizing a meta blog is near impossible unless of course the blogger is well know.
Despite this I will still try to find something that can bring a bit of money.

I had to laugh when I saw this - especially after what Vic said about publishing stats!!! Never mind, we are doing rather well for such a young site so as long as those stats keep going in the right direction that’s all that matters.

Terry: I know, it was a hard decision but I felt obliged to do this for our writers sake. I actually decided to stop posting stats on either of my blogs from January onwards. Because of Vic’s comments mainly.
Sad in a way, but I totally see where he is coming from too.
GCS Store: thanks for this cool video. I am anxious to see the report. I currently use many of the techniques discussed already on my own blog, but have learnt a thing or two which might be beneficial.
