As bloggers we are always concerned about getting traffic and high rankings. This is in direct relation to what others think of us and our online voice. Unfortunately many bloggers fall prey to loosing their unique voice as it is a constant battle with our brain and our vanity. But why would I say this? Because blogging isn’t as easy as slapping down some post and rambling about anything particular. The blogs that are well written and therefore most frequented are those who dare to stand apart.

Writing down informative posts and tricks of the trade takes a strong personality and courage. After all you could make money instead of giving the information away for free - or maybe instead you like the idea of being very generous with the amount of knowledge you give in order to attract more and more traffic which in turn will lead you to higher rankings and then - advertising sponsors.
Give freely with your knowledge and wonders will start to happen. Well, not really but you will better situated in the blogosphere and seen by others as an honest and decent person.

I have learnt that a few things help us moving ahead, those are:

• Being unique
• Branding Oneself
• Being open Minded
• Networking
• Working Hard
• Keeping the Focus
• Giving Freely from the Pot of Knowledge

By keeping your unique personality you will stand apart from the gazillion of bloggers out there. Don’t be afraid to stand up for your values at times. Even if it means you are not following a particular trend. Sometimes it helps to put your own spin on things and people will take notice more.

A typical example for this is the recent launch of the Blogosphere Widget by John Reese. Just about everybody started blogging about this including myself. This made me really think twice about what I do choose to write about whether it is popular or not.
