The Rush For Local Niches

At present we just about all scramble to get our individual local niches off the ground. Being able to serve our local neighbourhood is not only a great way to snatch our very own piece of earth real estate on the world wide web, but it will also make us the talk of the town before we know it.

Another advantage of going local is the fact that we already know so many people and places, so it makes perfect sense to blog about it. Even our friend Grizzly has found some fishes to entertain in the Canadian woods. So if he can do it, forget your excuse and start niche blogging.

In the last 3 days I’ve been very busy getting my own local niche blog off the ground, besides everything else I do. I also know for a fact that Terry will be working his butt of over the weekend as he takes ownership of his new domain today! We probably won’t see him stick his head through the door for a couple of days now.

Can’t blame the guy since he is on a mission.

We all are and have already built a great support network of fellow niche bloggers. But it isn’t too late yet for you. If you truly want to make a difference in your online marketing efforts this year, then I believe a local niche blog is a must in your arsenal of weapons.

Keep your eyes posted, as there will be more to come.

    Monika,

Started to gather information for my local niche blog, but just wondering which theme you would recommend for a local niche blog?
I know Vic recommended one from Blog oh Blog, but think it’s pretty uninviting to be honest - what do you think?

    Hi Nick,

I suggest you check out Justin Tadlock’s themes. I actually use the one Vic suggested at the moment but like you I found them less attractive. I’m planning to swap to one of Justin’s.

I have my domain registered for my local niche blog but haven’t made it much further. I’ve been to yours a few times to get an idea of how these niche blogs should be. Yours is great!

    Thanks Trent,

I’m having a ball too, feel free to comment too since that will hopefully help the locals to do the same. If you need help, you know were to get me. :-)
