Slow Down or Blog to Make Money?

January is traditionally a quiet blogging month when it comes to the make money business and online that’s not too different from the real world, especially here at Blogging Web 2.0. What makes things slower is the fact that everyone is still recovering from the excesses of the Christmas period so its no wonder there are not too many posts being put up in the blogging circles that I frequent.

However, this blogging place has slowed down for different reasons. Monika and myself have been busier than ever despite the commercial make money farce that is Christmas (yes, I am a scrooge bah, humbug). We’ve both had our blogging world turned upside down since bumping into Vic Franqui and his make money blog, Blogger Unleashed and we’ve both found ourselves catapulted into an alternative mindset of online business and make money practices that have literally squeezed our time to the limit.

Does that mean we’re not going to be posting in here so often?

I suppose it does, although the natural progression of this site would have seen that happen anyway – moving from the initial frenetic posting in order to fill the site with original content to get onto the SERPs ladder to a gradual blogging slowdown to less frequent but still high quality posts for our readers.

The invitation to guest blog on this site is still very much extended to all bloggers. But don’t be looking at the green bar and thinking, “Oh, its only a PR2 its not worth it for the backlink…” because that mode of thinking will trap you in a never ending cage of never progressing yourself to make money from blogging.

You see, this blog will increase in PR periodically and before too long those savvy bloggers who posted here with a back-link to their site will see the value of that backlink grow in importance as this site grows and will carry more SEO juice because of its antiquity.

So by waiting until we hit our next PR hike (which, believe me WILL happen), you lose the age of the backlink that grew naturally with the site. Still feel clever?

Well, you still have a chance to get in before we move up a few PR notches – if you want to promote your own blogging site to make money, that is. If not, that’s your choice.

Monika and myself will be changing the look of Blogging Web 2.0 soon to enhance its professional feel as well as further improve its on-site SEO and start to really make money from it, so watch this space…

    Ya agree the backlink part. and it is really helpful because you are using the do follow tag. Ya looking forward to that new theme. IMO if you get big header on the top and put recent post or favorite post would be great.

    ah ha… I figured you two were buried in Godaddy buying every PR domain in site. Good post Terry and while the green bar hasn’t changed I suspect you are already ranking much higher in the “real” pagerank.

    Hi Guys,

    Um, recent post eh? Oh, we called them “Just Posted”… and favourite posts are there too “Wanted by popularity”…

    Ha! Ok, I know the blogging sidebar is getting a bit cluttered and can’t see the wood for the trees, which is part of the reason for a revamp. Make it a little more simple and clean looking and the things we want to stand out will stand out better.

    Hey Grizz, you are probably right there about the PR - and my domain buying has crawled to a stop because I just got snowed under with a writing gig. Damn my luck eh? hehe

    Hey Vic, nice to see you here too - hell, you sure taught us a thing or twenty! I can’t even write a post about shit now without counting the keyword density - hahaha!

    Seriously, thanks for all your help - you got some backlinks from some of my sites too, hope it helps push yours up the ladder.
